What We are All About

What exactly are we trying to accomplish here at ANNEX?  That is an honest question ... here is our honest answer:

Our main purpose in operating the ANNEX is to cover -- or at least offset -- the direct operating costs of the ever-growing Stormbirds web site at www.stormbirds.com.  Rather than water down our research focus and subscribe to a myriad of outside banner advertisements and solicitations for general goods and services, we have instead implemented a strategy of supporting the site from within.

Of course, sometimes it is just hard to beat a custom T-shirt or a great new book, and we aim to provide enthusiasts worldwide high quality products that meet fairly specific aviation interests.  When was the last time you saw a really great Me 262 T-shirt or a Fw 190D-9 wall poster?  Exactly.  That is a big part of why we are here.

What We are NOT About

Much of the merchandise we offer deals with the warplanes and/or combat pilots of the German Luftwaffe during the years of the Third Reich (1933-1945).  

While we feel that it is entirely appropriate to acknowledge the stunning achievements of the German air arm during the Second World War, we have absolutely no political sympathies for the National Socialist regime, nor for any modern counterparts.

We offer a special welcome to all of our fellow Experten and to responsible enthusiasts of aviation history worldwide.  It is our chief aim to provide items that interest, excite and inspire you.  

If however, you are a member of some misguided splinter group seeking to drape yourself in swastikas, SS paraphernalia, and Neanderthal ideology, you are most definitely in hostile country.
